Napa after College Trip

After four days with KiKi, Kimmy and I left St. Mary's College, up by Walnut Creek CA, and picked up Sarah at the Oakland airport Friday morning. We were meeting up with her dad, Patrick, his best friend Sheryl and sister Kaitlin in the Napa area. Our destination the "Meritage & Vino Bello Resort", a beautiful place.

The Grape vines in this picture are at the McWilliams Vineyard, Kaitlin, Sarah's sister works for "Gallo" and this is one of their winerys. Steve and I love their wines!!

Reagan has a Great Swim day!!

Well today was a good day!!!

I spent the day with all "my girls" Molly joined me with Sarah, Reagan and Paige as we went to swim lessons then a wonderful lunch at CPK (California Pizza Kitchen). Paige had her 1st real lesson with Genni, and Reagan had the best lesson EVER!!! watch the video, Reagan swims face in the water then rolls over to her back as taught by Genni, her instructor of almost 1 year next month. I think Reagan was showing off for her Aunt Molly, (who by the way is having my 3rd grand-daughter in one week) it was her 1st time seeing Reagan swim.

KiKi goes to College

Eighteen years ago a very sweet little blonde girl was born, her name is Krista (KiKi) Hertzog. My best bud "Kim" and I took KiKi up to St. Mary's College the week of August the 25th. She is the 4th and the last of the Hertzog children to leave for college and I have had the awesome privilege and complete honor to have experienced the journey with Kimmy on all 4 occasions!! This one however was the toughest on me. The last is always the hardest, especially when you've known her since she was born! Getting her situated into her dorm and attending Parent Orientation were top priority's for the trip, but we did take time out to have really nice talks over great dinners and even do a little shopping, (my favorite pastime).. Good luck KiKi .. I love you as my own!! xoxo

An August day at Disneyland

Sarah & I took the girls to Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and
Reagan had a blast. She went on the Carousel once with mommy
and once with me.

Reagan is total infatuated with all the Princess' now so we had to go see them. Snow White was my favorite!

Even though it was super HOT!! we still had a terrific time, Paige was awesome, she's always so happy.

The Princess' put on a show every 1/2 hour or so. Reagan was right down front to

My new hair-cut

I just got tired of my hair being always in a ponytail or pulled back because I'm always hot, so I did the drastic, I cut it off! Steve's not thrilled but I've had more possitive comments that bad. (You decide)

The Newest Baby Girl Ireland (Due Sept.16th)

On Sunday July 27th Steve and I had the honor and privilege of watching an amazing ultrasound of our newest "grand-daughter" even though she has a few weeks to go we were delighted to watch her move about in Mommy Molly's tummy!! We were invited into a cushy room with couches and two TV's and as we got ourselves comfy Sean and Molly across the room got settled into ultrasound position. We watched as the newest little Ireland sucked on her thumb, yawned several times and even opened her eyes for us. We were given a DVD so I can watch it over and over at my leisure, it's truly incredible the technology of today. Thank you soooo much Sean and Molly for giving us this gift.

Homeless man, his dog, cat and rat.

Today as we shopped up & down State St. in Santa Barbara we see this homeless guy walking his cat and dog on leashes and the other little creature is his pet rat. This was one of the wildest things I've ever seen. Several times as they would just stroll down the street, the cat and rat would get a ride from their friend the dog. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Georgie and I watched a movie all the way to Santa Barbara. I love my new Lexus!! who said the entertainment system was just for kids.

Crosby, Stills & Nash Concert 07/18/08

Steve and I went to the Santa Barbara Bowl Wednesday night with are good friends Bruce and Georgie, the other two beautiful girls are Angela and Peggy, they pour wine in the tasting room at "Concilence" in Los Olivos. they joined us for dinner at "Chad's" a wonderful restaurant suggested by Bruce. (great choice Bruce). The concert was awesome with a perfect Full Moon rising over the ocean and a still night of about 75 degrees. We had SO much fun.

KARMA you will be missed!

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn and we're left wondering why. My daughter-in-law Molly just lost her grandmother "Karma" and our family wish to extend our deepest sympathy to her and her family. We had the pleasure of meeting Karma last July at Sean and Molly's wedding, she was delightful and very funny, my mother had a wonderful time just sitting and talking with her all night at the rehearsal dinner. I definitely met my match, word economy has never been my strong suit and Karma could out talk me. ha ha
Karma was a beautiful woman and will be missed by everyone.

The Gang

Steve and I hosted a "Gang" gathering last Saturday night the 7th at our home. This is a wonderful group of old High School friends that we've stayed in touch with over the years and really enjoy our time with them.

Someone recently told me "you can't do anything about getting older, but we can choose to never grow up".

Baby Furniture Shopping

Molly and I spent last Sunday shopping for their baby furniture, and she selected the sweetest "rubbed white" crib, Armour/dresser/changing table and a book case. She and Sean are expecting their 1st in Sept. Don't be confused by the "Blue" bedding, we're told so far it's a Girl!!
