Welcome Tallulah Day Ireland

Today started with a phone call from Sean at 7am, Molly and he were on their way to the hospital, Long Beach Memorial. She had been in labor for approx. 4 hours and her contractions were coming every 5 minutes. She was admitted immediately and Dr. Tamarah Manning was called. Around 11am she was given an epidural and felt comfort instantly. We thought things would move along now smooth and fast, but when Molly was checked by the Dr. about an hour later she was at 4 cm and 80% effaced which by its self is not so bad but the baby's heart rate was dropping after every contraction and that was of concern. Dr Manning told us that if this pattern continues they would need to do a C-section. Then at 1:15 they started pitosin to induce labor more intensely, but when checked again she hadn't changed and Tallulah's heart rate was still dropping after each contraction and the contractions were now much closer together so Dr. Manning made the call, It was time for a Cesarean. It would be to hard on both Molly and Tallulah to allow them to labor for what was expected to be hours and hours to get her to the point of delivery and then the question remained weather or not the delivery would happen on it's own, this was to great a risk and nothing was more important then the safety of Molly and baby. Things moved very quickly now, nurses scattered to their positions and she was in the OR within 15 min. Sean was taken in about 15 min. after that. It was now about 2:45. Tallulah Day Ireland was born into our world at 3:25 pm on September 21st 2008, she weighed in at 8lbs 8oz and 20" in length. She has dark hair and dark eyebrows with a tiny nose and big pouty beautiful lips. We are so excited and anxious to spoil her rotten. Molly and Baby are doing great!

Congratulations to Sean and Molly, Job well done!!!!

We were meeting up with her dad, Patrick, his best friend Sheryl and sister Kaitlin in the Napa area. Our destination the "Meritage & Vino Bello Resort", a beautiful place.

Reagan has a Great Swim day!!

Well today was a good day!!!

I spent the day with all "my girls" Molly joined me with Sarah, Reagan and Paige as we went to swim lessons then a wonderful lunch at CPK (California Pizza Kitchen). Paige had her 1st real lesson with Genni, and Reagan had the best lesson EVER!!! watch the video, Reagan swims face in the water then rolls over to her back as taught by Genni, her instructor of almost 1 year next month. I think Reagan was showing off for her Aunt Molly, (who by the way is having my 3rd grand-daughter in one week) it was her 1st time seeing Reagan swim.

KiKi goes to College

Eighteen years ago a very sweet little blonde girl was born, her name is Krista (KiKi) Hertzog. My best bud "Kim" and I took KiKi up to St. Mary's College the week of August the 25th. She is the 4th and the last of the Hertzog children to leave for college and I have had the awesome privilege and complete honor to have experienced the journey with Kimmy on all 4 occasions!! This one however was the toughest on me. The last is always the hardest, especially when you've known her since she was born! Getting her situated into her dorm and attending Parent Orientation were top priority's for the trip, but we did take time out to have really nice talks over great dinners and even do a little shopping, (my favorite pastime).. Good luck KiKi .. I love you as my own!! xoxo
